Monday at Camp

This year our theme for each Monday is: Courage to Trust.

No coincidence that this would be our theme on the first full day of camp. It takes a lot of courage and the building up of trust as we begin our week of camp. This week’s campers took to it like pros. We even had 3 people join us Monday morning and they joined right in and our group grew bigger and so did our hearts for one another.

Summer Must Do campers started off their week of summer fun just right with a day of crafting at our Craft Lodge. What better way to kick of the week than to make your own tie-dye t-shirt? Our creations looked colorful and we look forward to seeing them unveiled later this week! We also made Perler/Fuse bead projects, bean art mosaics. It was all so much fun! Then in the afternoon the group explored our theme of “Courage to Trust” during Bible study and experiencing activities that helped to exemplify what it is like to trust and to be trustworthy.

Our Survivor crew kicked off their journey with a challenge require unity to discover their three team make-ups and team names. It was quite the challenge and stretched our ability to trust and our endurance. Sometimes you aren’t successful and this activity didn’t quite end as we’d imagined so our ingenious campers found a way around to complete the task not as we’d intended. But the neat thing about camp is that we can regroup and try again later and so we did with much success. While they were wet and it still was a struggle, they achieved the goal and felt a strong sense of accomplishment!

Along the way we had fun whether singing songs, playing games or swimming in the pool. It was a good day!

Lastly, I want to leave you with these pictures from the day:

Nothing better than a beautiful time of worship followed by a full campfire circle filled with happy campers, fun songs and good moments before heading to bed!
